Life can feel overwhelming at times, whether you're navigating anxiety, parenting challenges, a difficult life transition, grief, or simply feeling stuck. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported. I am passionate about helping clients recognize their strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels right for them.
With more than 12 years of experience working alongside children, adolescents, and the adults who care for them, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals and families through life's challenges. Before becoming a therapist, I was an educator, giving me a unique understanding of child development, behavioral concerns, learning differences, family dynamics, and the pressures children and parents often face. This experience allows me to connect naturally with children while also partnering closely with parents to help create positive change both at home and at school.
I also have experience supporting individuals and families affected by cancer and chronic illness through my work at Loyola University Medical Center and Gilda's Club Chicago. These experiences have deepened my appreciation for the emotional impact of illness, caregiving, uncertainty, and loss while reinforcing the importance of hope, connection, and resilience during difficult times.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and empowerment oriented. I believe that clients are the experts on their own lives, and that therapy works best when therapist and client work together as partners. Rather than telling clients what they "should" do, I help them identify their existing strengths, build upon successful coping skills, and discover new ways of approaching life's challenges.
Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, understand how thoughts influence emotions and behaviors, and develop healthier coping strategies that promote emotional well-being. I integrate evidence-based techniques within a warm, supportive relationship that emphasizes trust, empowerment, and personal growth.
