Nisha’s specialized clinical background in depression, anxiety, self-harm and suicidal thinking enables her to reach into and connect with some of the most hopeless, sad, and socially and emotionally isolated clients. In addition, Nisha has deep experience with trauma resolution and more severe psychological and psychiatric challenges, such as acute anxiety and Bipolar Disorder. She works with the adult and geriatric populations as well. Aging is a natural process that presents its own set of challenges for some individuals and their families and can make it difficult for people to adjust.
Being of Asian descent, Nisha values an openness to other cultures, challenging one's own attitudes and beliefs, flexible problem-solving, and the desire to work in collaboration with clients of various cultural backgrounds. She has a dedicated approach and values the importance of culture in shaping lives and treating problems within relevant cultural contexts.
As a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Nisha understands the social, emotional, and occupational barriers that her handicapped, medically challenged and inured clients face. Nisha’s acute awareness of not only the medical, but the social and systemic aspects of their disability, is a crucial quality she possesses. She helps her clients explore their complex needs, helping them to manage their symptoms and to achieve higher levels of access to what makes them feel whole and happy. She helps her clients through their bouts of anger, depression, isolation and helplessness and grief, while helping them to become increasingly more resilient.
